Damelin College Graduation, Damelin, a leading private education provider, held its 72nd leg of annual graduation ceremonies nationwide, successfully awarding degrees and diplomas to its accomplished students from its 18 campuses throughout the country.

Hosted at various venues across the country, the graduation ceremonies kicked off in March this year and will conclude at the end of April. One of the key highlights of the graduation programme was the address by the executive board, each stating their personal journey and how education played a major role in their success. Attended by parents thousands of parents and guardians, the Damelin graduations was hailed as a huge success.
Professor Hay-Swemmer, Chief Academic Officer for Educor congratulated all graduates on this incredible milestone and said that as a parent herself, nothing can replace this elated feeling, when you witness your child being capped.

Journalism and Media Studies cum laude graduate Meryska Marimuthu, currently working at Durban Youth Radio station as a News Anchor was among the hundreds of students who graduated at one of the 18 Damelin campuses nationwide, Damelin PMB. Describing it as a ‘dream come true’ the Durban City student said that the graduation was everything she hoped for and more. “The excitement and adrenaline took over me and I loved every moment of it. It was truly a fulfilling moment to walk up on stage and receive my Diploma, which I worked so hard to achieve.”
Kenneth Masilela, National Operations Manager for Damelin said witnessing all the Damelin students being handed their qualifications is always heart-warming and a proud moment for the students, parents and us as the provider of higher education. “This moment is a culmination of years of hard work and commitment and we salute our parents and students for a job well done,” said Kenneth.
Nhlonipho Nxele, a recent Damelin Pietermaritzburg campus graduate who studied a Diploma in Financial Accounting said that graduation was an unforgettable experience. Adding that when he heard his name being called and he walked up to that podium, he knew that anything would be possible.
“I have all the confidence in what I have been taught and equipped with at college and I am certainly excited about the prospects of entering the job market. I am also very grateful to my family and Damelin for the emotional and academic support that was offered to me without fail,” said Nhlonipho.
Jessie Naidoo, Group Head of Communications for Educor, the holding company of Damelin said: “Fortunately the journey with Damelin does not end with graduation and with the I Am Damelin Alumni Society and the Graduate and Employability Centres being launched throughout the country, graduates can continue to stay in touch for career advice as well as job networking opportunities.”
