North West University Distance Learning Fees, The Unit for Open Distance Learning was established in 2012 with the vision to provide, through open distance learning, access to increasing numbers of students, to quality education programmes, by means of ongoing effective support and appropriate technology.

UnivPrep:  Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Degree is currently not being offered by the NWU by means of distance education.  After successful completion of the BCom UnivPrep programme, prospective students wishing to enrol for a BCom Degree, have to enrol for full-time studies at one of the NWU campuses.

FEES

  • The total programme fee for 2019 is R12 000.
  • In order to be registered for the programme, successful applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of R5 000.
  • Registration and final admission to the programme is dealt with strictly on a “first-come-first-serve” basis. Successful applicants who do not register, will lose their place in the programme.
  • The balance due after registration is payable in monthly instalments starting January 2019 and the full programme fee must be paid by end of September 2019.

UnivPrep:  Bachelor of Theology (BTh)

The Bachelor of Theology (BTh) Degree is offered by means of distance education and after successful completion of the UnivPrep programme, prospective students will be able to enrol for the BTh degree by means of distance education.

Due to capacity constraints, no further applications can be accepted or considered for admission to the UnivPrep BEd programme in 2019.

As from 2018, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Degree will also be offered in the distance mode of delivery. After successful completion of the UnivPrep programme, prospective students will be able to enrol for the BSc degree in IT either by means of distance education or by means of full-time study at one of the NWU campuses where the degree is offered.
