El Shaddai Christian School Application Procedure
The Application Form must be accompanied by a:
(a) copy of the child’s birth certificate;
(b) photo of pupil (ID-sized head and shoulders);
(c) photo of parents;
(d) “Indemnity” and “Statement of Agreement”, duly completed and signed;
(e) copy of the child’s latest academic report;
(f) copy of any professional report, e.g. occupational therapy, IQ evaluation, speech therapy, etc. (If available);
(g) copy of both parents’ identity documents;
(h) copy of child’s identity document or study permit number in the case of foreign residents;
(i) completed “Medical Information” form;
(j) completed “Fundraising at El Shaddai Christian School” form, relating to our annual cycle fun ride.
(k) letter of commendation from your pastor;
(l) an initial application fee of R500, which is non-refundable. On successful application, the balance of R3 500 will be due. (Total R4 000 per pupil.) Should the application be rejected, the R3 500 is refundable.
The Admissions Process
1. Receipt of this form by ESCS does not imply formal acceptance into the school.
2.1 The fully completed application form must reach the admissions secretary before 30 April in the year preceding admission to ESCS in order for it to be considered as part of the first round of acceptances.
2.2 Application forms received after this date will be considered with the second round of acceptances (Term 3).
2.3 Application forms for the second round of acceptances must reach the admissions secretary before 31 July.
3. Your child will be required to spend a day or two at school where he/she will undergo diagnostic academic testing (e.g. school readiness tests, literacy and numeracy tests) as well as an interview. The school will contact you in this regard.
4. As part of the admissions process, both parents will also be interviewed.
5. The school will notify you in writing of its decision regarding acceptance/rejection before the end of the second term (for first round acceptances) or third term (for second round acceptances).6. The school’s decisions as regards admission of a pupil is final and no reasons need to be given in the event of an application being refused.
