Application Procedure
SA Application Due Dates for the River Bible Institute Program
- Applications are due before 6 December for January Intakes and before 25 June for the July Intake.
- Please Note: Enrolment is on a first apply, first admitted basis.
- The River Bible Institute reserves the right of admissions.
- All applications must be submitted with a non-refundable application fee of R150.00.
- Please answer all questions. If a question does not apply to you, write N/A (not applicable) in the space provided.
- You must include a recent passport size colour photograph of yourself and a copy of your SA ID. Application will be considered incomplete without photo and R150.00 non-refundable application fee.
- Please send a copy of your High School Report or Matric Certificate.
- Complete, sign, and submit the statement of purpose. Please print or type in English.
- You may fax or e-mail your application but you will still be required to send your original filled in application. (Faxing & e-mailing is merely to speed up your application process
- Submit three recommendations: One from your pastor, and two personal recommendations from people who know you well and can speak on your behalf regarding your character, gifts, and calling. Please do not use relatives for any of the required recommendations. The RBI recommendation forms must be used – please download –
- Once the admissions office has reviewed your COMPLETED application, you will be notified in writing of your acceptance or denial within 4-6 weeks.
- International applicants are encouraged to consider joining the ONLINE correspondence studies, if they are for any reason NOT able to join the full time studies. Even though we trust for a smooth process we have experienced some difficulty with the Visa Process for our International applicants.
International Students Application
- Applications are due before 30 October for the January Intake and before 30 April for the July Intake, due to Study Visa Process taking up to 6 weeks after application. PLEASE NOTE: Enrolment is on a first apply, first admitted basis.
- The River Bible Institute reserves the right of admissions.
- All applications must be submitted with a non-refundable application fee of R150.00.
- Provide RBI with a copy of your passport and visa permit to complete the process. (Follow procedure as with inland application above)
- Applicant needs to be able to speak, write and follow instructions in English.
- Submit three recommendations: One from your pastor and two personal recommendations from people who know you well and can speak on your behalf regarding your character, gifts, and calling. Please do not use relatives for any of the required recommendations. The RBI recommendation forms must be used – please download –

- (3) 2nd Personal Recommendation
- You may fax your application in order to speed up the process, but you are required to post it as well, please.
- Once the admissions office has reviewed your COMPLETED application, you will be notified in writing of your acceptance or denial within 4-6 weeks. (Please make sure you complete & send your application as soon as possible, as the process tends to take long in regards to your visa if accepted. No students will be allowed to start classes without a valid 3 year study permit)
- The Embassy will be informed of any student who fails to arrive for the intake enrolled for.

The weeks listed above begin on the first day of the school year regardless of when the student begins attending class. The percentage listed as refunded reflects the percentage of full tuition that is to be returned to the student. The percentage listed as student owes reflects the amount that will be retained by RBI as part of the full tuition fee owed by the student. This refund policy only applies to students who have completed the proper withdrawal forms. Please allow thirty days for any refund.
