Curro Thatchfield is an independent school in Thatchfield Hills, Centurion that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade R to Grade 12. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum empower learners with 21st-century skills and knowledge to grow into self-confident individuals and to reach their personal, educational and eventual workplace goals. We are unique in that we have an excellent drum majorettes team and some of our specialized subjects include Robotics and Technology. Our dedicated teachers and well-rounded approach prepare learners for the IEB examinations at the end of Grade 12.
We also have a Group 5 (5 years old) class at our primary school, but since they follow the internally developed nursery school programme, the offering is included on Curro Castle Thatchfield’s webpage. At the Castle, we accommodate children from 3 years old.

To that end, our classrooms and facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art tools and learners use tablets in the classrooms rather than textbooks from the intermediate phase onwards. We also offer specialised subjects such as Robotics and Technology.

Our dedicated teachers also offer homework-and-support classes to help learners that need extra help with the material. Beyond our enhanced curriculum, we also offer several enjoyable and enriching activities, such as excursions, concerts, special day celebrations, personal development, and elevated education workshops. Although teaching takes place in English, we offer Afrikaans, isiZulu and Setswana as optional additional languages. Learners are prepared for the IEB examination.
At Curro Thatchfield, we incorporate technology in our teaching methods by using tablets in the classroom. Rather than heavy textbooks, learners from the intermediate phase onward have the option to use software to view and study from an e-book. Using innovative technology allows teachers to provide a wealth of information at the touch of a button and better prepares learners for the workplace of the future.
Children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. Therefore, our classroom setups and teaching methods encourage learners to interact with the learned material by making discoveries for themselves or testing information they had just read. By experiencing the work rather than simply memorizing it, learners gain a greater understanding of the concepts and are able to apply their minds in an exam as well as in practice.
Furthermore, many of our specialized subjects develop 21st-century skills that will greatly benefit learners in their future workplace. Other than Robotics and Technology, these subjects include Engineering Graphics and Design, Information Technology, and Visual Arts.

Step 1: Complete the enrolment forms
- Download and complete the enrolment forms from this page.
- Gather all the supporting documents mentioned in the application form.
Step 2: Submit the enrolment forms
- Scan and email the completed enrolment forms and supporting documents to [email protected].
Step 3: Sign the admissions contract
- If your application is successful, we will contact you to sign the admissions contract.
- Once processed, you will receive an email confirming your child’s acceptance and including your family code.
- The account holder indicated will receive an invoice for the once-off enrolment fee.
Step 4: Pay the enrolment fee
- Pay the enrolment fee to secure your child’s place for the next academic year or term.
- Please keep proof of payment for record-keeping purposes.
