Rhodes University Drama School Production
Rhodes University Drama Department excels in a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to theatre, producing a wide range of work from plays to physical theatre, site-specific and applied theatre projects.
Students play a major role in the making and performing of productions. This is in line with the department’s commitment to student-centered learning; staff act as facilitators and mentors for these creative endeavors.
A number of professionals also contribute to the artistic programme. Students can work on productions either on stage or backstage, right from first year.
Throughout the year postgraduate students working in diverse specialisations – such as Applied Theatre, Choreography, Design, Directing, Writing, and Physical Performance – produce theatre events and experiences for public and examination purposes.
Productions are of a high standard and performances are well supported by the Rhodes University community.
